Orson Welles was an American film and radio producer, actor, director and screenwriter. Welles was born in 1915 and died in 1985. Welles is most commonly known for his portayal of media figure William Randolph Hearst. He was only twentyfive at the time, but its arguably his best work. When the film was released (1941) it was not a success. Theater owners boycotted the film due to the bad review given by newspapers driven by Hearsts influence.
